Introduction
MAN TGE box type with high Roof is a new 1/87 - HO model from Herpa. It is item 092838.
New type! After the cooperation between Volkswagen and Mercedes ended on the project Sprinter/Crafter, VW developed the TGE together with MAN, which was introduced at the IAA 2016.

The Model
Herpa created this model with injection molded parts and tires that are a plastic-rubber hybrid.

Herpa's molding is high quality with sharp and crisp pieces. Fine surface detail includes recessed and raised panel lines and body parts, as appropriate. The window glazing is clear and without distortion.

Assembly is also high quality. I can't find any de-spruing burrs where the parts were removed from their parts trees.

Herpa vehicles are snap-together. Two separate side mirrors are provided for you to attach if you wish to.

Detail
For this review I am starting inside-out. Herpa created a good interior with seats, center console, dash board, rear view mirror, and steering wheel. Unfortunately, the clear windows are small and afford little viewing access to the nice interior. Modelers willing to pry the model open can add a driver and passenger.

The exterior features crisp grille detail, door handles, and windshield wipers.

Herpa simulates the head lights and brake lights with clear and tinted lenses.

Finally, an underside of low relief details the bottom of the vehicle.

Paint and Markings
Herpa does not use decals and all of the logos and vehicle names are painted on. Except for chrome, the model is molded in color.

Conclusion
Herpa has created another sharp model with MAN TGE box type with high Roof. It features clear and tinted lenses for external lights. Molded with sharp detail it also has a detailed interior.

I have no meaningful complaints.

Modelers of 1/87 automobiles and model railroads, and collectors of modern box vans, should appreciate this new MANN van. Recommended.

I'm a professional pilot with a degree in art. My first model was an AMT semi dump truck. Then Monogram's Lunar Lander right after the lunar landing. Next, Revell's 1/32 Bf-109G...cried havoc and released the dogs of modeling! My interests--if built before 1900, or after 1955, then I proba...
