Big Train Show

This year my time and photo opportunities were limited.  Dozens of vendors were there and each year more come, as I was told.  Most of these images are of the big 180 ft X 78 ft layout of the Sipping & Switching Society of North Carolina's modules.   A retired economics professor who holds the patent for the modular design used by module groups explained that the S&SS's layout has reached 27,000 sq. ft, if every module is used.  To participate at a show, the require a guarantee of a minimum 10,000 sq. ft.  I think he said this display was about 14,000 sq. ft.    With so much to see and scores of people milling about, I shot what caught my eye at the time.  No offense to the module masters whose work does not show up here.

Other layouts were NTRAK, T-Trak, O-27, and Gauge I (1/32) live steam.

You can read here about NMRA's module design.
